Martina's Garden Stile

Darren and Alison's garden in Baraugh Green, Barnsley
We took up this idea and continued the theme of 45° lines by adding 2 small seating areas next to the house - an uncovered timber sun deck and a cosy, semi-shaded paved patio area beneath a pergola, over which, in time, a wisteria will flourish. The space between the patios and the elevated lawn became a gravelled "wetland" planting area, with a range of specimen grasses, ferns and hostas. A stout timber walkway, with occasional grab-poles, allows safe passage from the deck to the lawn above the jaws of the snapping crocodiles. For those interested in the construction phase of this project, Alison has provided us with a few interim shots. Thanks, Alison, for the photography. The model in the sun deck pictures, by the way, is Darren and Alison's niece Fearn Key Benefits
